Hello and welcome to my teaching portfolio! This portfolio will shed light on what I have experienced and learned during my time being a Writing Mentor as Arizona State University. As someone who has never considered becoming a teacher after I graduate, this opportunity as a Writing Mentor has given me a glimpse at what helping students might look like, and because of this, I am now interested in becoming an educator in the future!

 

 

This experience has shaped my mindset not only when it comes to tutoring but also being a student and a more understanding person. Throughout the internship I have learned about how to give meaningful feedback, consider aspects of student identity and intersectionality when it comes to helping students, and overall have empathy at the forefront of every student interaction. This portfolio allows me to make meaning of all the time and effort I have poured into being a Writing Mentor.
